So much of my inspiration comes from architecture, design and fashion from the early to mid 20th Century . The lines, the shapes and the colours of all sorts of things provoke me to pick up my pencil and draw up the motifs that eventually make up my patterns. It might be a 1950’s Palm Springs Mid Mod house, or perhaps the colour of a gorgeous 1960’s shift dress or a Bauhaus poster from the 1920’s – whatever captures my eye. For me, pattern design is a passion and an obsession and I particularly love designing for fabric because there are endless possibilities of where my pattern will end up – and isn’t that exciting?
