New York Fashion Week – Print Trends for Spring/Summer 2016

Bold and interesting prints were all over the runways of New York Fashion Week, as designers showcased their Spring/Summer 2016 collections.

There were a range of trends shown; from eighties inspired conversation prints at Libertine and Ground Zero, to art deco motifs at Rachel Zoe, Geometric prints at J. Mendel, and even Japanese Giesha designs at Thom Browne.

However, the biggest trend to come out of New York Fashion Week were floral prints, in particular tropical fauna and floral.  These were created through a range of styles, from photographic prints to one-dimensional motifs that are reminiscent of Matisse’s Cut Out collection.

But fear not, the Hawaiian shirt is not making a comeback!  Instead, the tropical theme has taken a sophisticated edge, with our three favourite designers being Trina Turk, Esé Azénabor and Diane Von Furstenberg.
