 Junior Production Assistant – Three Days a Week

We are looking for a talented all-rounder for a newly created roll as a Junior production assistant.

Next State is a small collaborative team of individuals who each have their own domain, but work together as a team to look after customers, receive orders, print fabric, dispatch textile prints, produce fully made homewares and textiles for events and commercial art projects.

As the business is expanding we have need for a dedicated junior to support the production process in all areas of the business. If you are ready to start your career in local, ethical and on-demand manufacturing then keep reading!

The Junior Production Assistant will support the team in receiving in orders and preparing files and requirements for print, assist in the print room with preparing fabrics and loading and unloading machines, support fabric QC and dispatch of orders. Prepare print orders for production and make sure all elements in a job are delivered and to a high standard.

You will become an essential part of our team supporting a diverse range of production, from the printing of fabric, printing of fine art and artwork canvas to the the QC and packing of orders. You will assist in preparing jobs for print, sewing and making sure the customer requirements are met. This is a hands on roll where you will get a balance of computer and physical work.

Previous production experience is desirable, not essential if you believe you have what it takes, as we offer supportive training. This position is perfect for graduates, it brings variety and different challenges. One day you may be focused on delivering a production run of textile goods and the and the next sending out client orders.

The position is part time (24 hours), however we are flexible with hours and days based on an individual’s needs. This roll is fixed term until December 2026. There is an opportunity for it to become ongoing.

  • Adobe Software – Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Willingness to learn print technology opperation
  • Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent written communication
  • Basic understanding with website back ends
